A Note on Closed Subsets in Quasi-zero-dimensional Qcb-spaces
نویسنده
چکیده
We introduce the notion of quasi-zero-dimensionality as a substitute for the notion of zero-dimensionality, motivated by the fact that the latter behaves badly in the realm of qcb-spaces. We prove that the category QZ of quasi-zero-dimensional qcb0-spaces is cartesian closed. Prominent examples of spaces in QZ are the spaces of the Kleene-Kreisel continuous functionals equipped with the respective sequential topology. Moreover, we characterise some types of closed subsets of QZ-spaces in terms of their ability to allow extendability of continuous functions. These results are related to a problem in Computable Analysis.

A Note on Closed Subsets in Quasi-zero-dimensional Qcb-spaces (Extended Abstract)
Prominent examples of spaces in QZ are the spaces in the sequential hierarchy of the Kleene-Kreisel continuous functiona...
متن کاملQuotients of countably based spaces are not closed under sobrification
In this note we show that quotients of countably based spaces (qcb spaces) and topological predomains as introduced by M. Schröder and A. Simpson are not closed under sobrification. As a consequence replete topological predomains need not be sober, i.e. in general repletion is not given by sobrification. Our counterexample also shows that a certain tentative “equalizer construction” of repletio...
متن کاملAn Effective Tietze-Urysohn Theorem for QCB-Spaces
The Tietze-Urysohn Theorem states that every continuous real-valued function defined on a closed subspace of a normal space can be extended to a continuous function on the whole space. We prove an effective version of this theorem in the Type Two Model of Effectivity (TTE). Moreover, we introduce for qcb-spaces a slightly weaker notion of normality than the classical one and show that this prop...
متن کاملOn quasi $P$-spaces and their applications in submaximal and nodec spaces
A topological space is called submaximal if each of its dense subsets is open and is called nodec if each of its nowhere dense ea subsets is closed. Here, we study a variety of spaces some of which have already been studied in $C(X)$. Among them are, most importantly, quasi $P$-spaces and pointwise quasi $P$-spaces. We obtain some new useful topological characterizations of quasi $...
متن کاملTopological predomains and qcb spaces are not closed under sobrification
In (Simpson 2003) A. Simpson introduced the category PreDom of topological predomains as a framework for denotational semantics containing also most classical spaces, namely all countably based T0 spaces. Countably based T0 spaces are isomorphic to subspaces of Pω where the latter is endowed with the Scott topology. A qcb space (as introduced in (Menni and Simpson 2002)) is a T0 space which app...
